Primes are on the way up thanks to heavenly new single Shangri-La, write Olaf Furniss and Derick Mackinnon
Falkirk-based trio Primes consists of school friends Ollie Kitchen (vocals and bass guitar), Sarah Monteith-Skelton (guitar) and Reece Ryan (drums). They’ve sold out hometown shows and performed at festivals such as Party At The Palace, Vibration Festival, ButeFest and Rewind. On St Andrews Day, Primes filmed a set in Monteith-Skelton’s garden as part of the virtual Frontline Festival, raising money for charities that support emergency services staff.
Excellent new single Shangri-La has already clocked-up over 10,000 plays on Spotify and they’ve also been selected for The Weekender’s newly launched Scottish Music Awards.
The group have also secured airplay via Rapal on BBC Radio nan Gàidheal, from Jim Gellatly on Amazing Radio and featured in local paper The Falkirk Herald.
