The priority is the defence. Reports suggest they are nearing the signing of a centre-back and badly need a right-back after Mikael Lustig, Cristian Gamboa and Jeremy Toljan's exit.
The Accies have had the likes of Greg Docherty, Lewis Ferguson, Ali Crawford, David Templeton and Toni Andreu in recent seasons, A similar influential midfielder who can create and score goals would be welcomed.
Craig Levein expects a much quieter window than 12 months ago. More pace and width would be a huge bonus in attack. The centre of midfield would be another position if Arnaud Djoum signs for someone else.
Hibs have been active in the transfer market but one position stands out: defensive midfield. Marvin Bartley and Mark Milligan have left leaving the club light in that area,
Angelo Alessio has a strong base to his Killie team. But the Rugby Park side are lacking in wide and forward area.
Gary Holt has sorted the goalkeeping situation meaning another option in attack to replace Ryan Hardie is likely sought after.
The Steelmen have added in a number of positions and are likely waiting for the Turnbull to Celtic deal to go through before entering the market again where another wide option and possibly striker would be of interest.
Steven Gerrard has said it himself: centre-back. If a player is sold he would have to go back into the transfer market.
The Staggies have a large squad going into the league. It's hard to pinpoint a specific position but a bit more star quality wouldn't go amiss.
Tommy Wright wants only two more players. Competition at left-back and a striker.
With a new manager still to be appointed the Buddies are behind their league rivals in preparation for the new season. Only 15 players on their books they need strengthening all over with few goals in the team.
