According to reports in France, Celtic have made an approach to try and sign Stade Reims winger Nathanael Mbuku.

The 18-year-old has played 13 times for the Ligue 1 club so far this season and is courting interest from Lille and Parma.

He would reportedly cost £7million to sign on a permanent basis.

Mixed bag for Aberdeen

There’s good news/bad news coming out of Pittodrie this afternoon.

Aberdeen have managed to agree a deal with full-back Greg Leigh that will see the player remain until the summer.

However, manager Derek McInnes has revealed attacker Scott Wright looks like he could be heading off this summer when his contract expires as the Dons have thus far failed to get him to agree to a new contract.

Three Hearts loans as fans favourite signs on

Hearts have been handed a boost after reliable defender Michael Smith put pen to paper on a new 18-month deal.

Meanwhile, the club have announced loan moves for two youngsters while reserve keeper Colin Doyle will remain with Kilmarnock for the rest of the campaign.

Connor Smith and Cammy Logan will both join Paul Hartley’s League One Cove Rangers side.

The Colombian is currently playing in Finland with FC Honka and has been tipped to follow in the footsteps of Alfredo Morelos.

Alegria, a forward, is currently in Amsterdam with speculation ramped up that he could be on the way to signing for a club.

Ex-Scotland internatinoal Alan Hutton reckons Celtic have already held talks about a move for Motherwell star Declan Gallagher.

The Scotland centre-back is out of contract at the end of the season and is keen on a Parkhead move.

Hutton told Football Insider: “I’m sure they’ve had dialogue already, so everybody will be aware of this clause and they’ll be trying to get it done as soon as possible.

Laxalt targets permanent Celtic move

Celtic loanee Diego Laxalt is focused on earning a permanent deal at Parkhead.

The Uruguayan, who has been borrowed from AC Milan for the season, was the subject of a tempting offer from the Middle East.

However, he is believed to be keen on a staying at Celtic.

Midfielder tipped for Ibrox move

Former England striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has tipped Daniel Johnson to make a move to Rangers for a “fresh challenge”.

The midfielder has reportedly been offered a £17k-a-week deal at Preston.

Agbonlahor told Football Insider: “He’s a real quality midfielder, I was at Villa with him when he was in the reserve team. He’s got legs, he can tackle and most importantly he can score goals, he’s got great technique.

Allan McGregor contract update

Former Rangers star Alan Hutton has revealed his former colleague Allan McGregor is keeping his cards close to his chest regarding a new contract.

The pair are close friends but Hutton admits even he can’t get anythig out of him.

He told Football Insider: “He’s like no, it’s not the right time to be talking about stuff like that, he’s just focused on what’s in front and fair play to him, I think that’s a brilliant way to look at it, not many people would be like that in his situation. Fair play to him.”

Hearts eye at least two new signings

Hearts boss Robbie Neilson has confirmed his desire to sign a striker and winger in January.

He told the Evening News the type of forward he is keen on:

“We need something a bit different up front, somebody with a bit of physicality who will link the play"

Approach made for Hibs target

Hibs target Allan Campbell is wanted by Championship side Millwall.

The midfielder is out of contract at the end of the season and there is interest from around the UK.

Old Firm target offer

Celtic and Rangers have both been linked with Charlton Athletic winger Alfie Doughty.

The Parkhead club were keen on the player in the summer transfer window but no move was forthcoming.

Stoke City have already made a bid for Doughty, believed to be around £650,000, as they try to land him in January with his contract expiring at the end of the season.

Charlton boss Lee Bowyer has confirmed the player is not keen on signing a new  deal with the club.

He said: “Alfie’s agent has told us he won’t sign a new deal and I’m disappointed with that. This time last year his agent was saying we should leave him on loan in non-league instead of calling him back. We’ve given him the opportunity and we want him to sign a new contract. But that’s his decision, that’s his choice – we understand that."
