  • Ryan Kent bid rejected

Claims of £3m Rangers offer for striker

Rangers were one of a number of teams interested in Rapid Vienna striker Taxiarchis Fountas.

According to the Daily Record, the Austrian club and the player’s representatives clashed with the Ibrox club unaware they were involved.

Leeds interest in Kent twist

Leeds United may turn their attention from Ryan Kent.

Reports in France suggest the Elland Road club will make a bid for Bayer Leverkusen ace Leon Bailey.

Leeds failed with their opening bid for the Rangers winger with Steven Gerrard confirming it was well below the club’s valuation.

Celtic line up Turnbull bid

Celtic are preparing a bid of over £2m for David Turnbull, according to a report.

The Motherwell playmaker has entered the club’s thoughts once more after his move to Parkhead fell through last summer.

Turnbull impressed against Hibs last weekend and could replace Tom Rogic who is reportedly close to a move to Qatar.

Lennon confirms Duffy interest

Celtic have held tentative talks with regards to bringing Shane Duffy to the club.

The Republic of Ireland international is set to leave Brighton with West Ham also keen.

Lennon told Off the Ball: "We have made tentative enquiries and we'll see how that goes."

Leeds ‘considering’ next Kent move

Leeds United are ‘considering’ a second big for Rangers ace Ryan Kent, report The Athletic.

Ibrox boss Steven Gerrard confirmed they had turned down a bid, reported to be worth up to £10m.

Rangers should have got more for Docherty - Hutton

Ex-Rangers star Alan Hutton believes the club should have got a better deal for midfielder Greg Docherty.

The midfielder joined Hull City for £350,000 plus add-ons.

Hutton told Football Insider: "They bought him for £600-700,000, roughly. I think if anything Hull’s getting a great deal. If you think about with his stats, it’s actually a really good deal.

“Rangers possibly could have got a little bit more, they’re probably cutting their losses and trying to get rid of some fringe figures. That’s one they would have known doesn’t have a future at Rangers so let’s move him on and free up some space.”

No Shankland contact

Dundee United boss Micky Mellon has confirmed there has been ‘no contact’ over Lawrence Shankland.

French outfit Guingamp are reportedly keen on the Scotland international.

Mellon, who welcomes interest in players as it means they are doing well, is hoping to have Shankland back in the squad for Saturday’s clash with Celtic.

Rangers advised to make ‘wow’ signing

Former England international Kevin Phillips has urged Rangers to sign Sheffield United midfielder John Lundstram.

The Ibrox side have been linked with a move for the Blades star who has less than a year to run on his contract.

Phillips told Football Insider: “Without a shadow of a doubt. If Steve G can secure his services, wow. We saw how he performed in the Premier League this year. The league up there hasn’t got the same quality, so you would like to think that he would shine even more.

“So yeah, that would be a massive coup if they could get him to go there.”
