Rangers commended by Scottish Goverment for 'swift and decisive’ response to Covid breaches
Rangers have been praised by the Scottish Government for their handling of the Covid-19 breaches by two members of their playing staff.
The Ibrox club have suspended Jordan Jones and George Edmundson and ordered the pair to self-isolate for 14 days after it came to light that the players attended a private gathering with others outside of their household on Sunday.
A Scottish Government spokesman said: “The return to training and match protocols mandate strict adherence to all Government guidance in place, including on gatherings and physical distancing.
"Players maintain the sporting bubble by not compromising any of these things when away from the heavily regulated training or match environment, and we expect clubs and their staff and players to fulfil their responsibilities and apply all these measures rigourously.
"We commend Rangers for taking such swift and decisive action in this instance, to protect the rest of their squad and the wider public.”
