There’s a full card of SPFL Premiership matches tomorrow night – and the Championship clubs are in action this evening, so there is plenty of Scottish football to go round.
And that’s not to mention the forthcoming transfer window and discussion period for players with expiring contracts.
Hearts host Arbroath with Craig Wighton still eyeing up a new deal – and he knows what he has to do to forge a place in Robbie Neilson’s plans going forward. The big game in the second tier though is Dunfermline’s trip north to face Inverness, with the Highlanders doing what they can to hang on to the coat-tails of the teams above them in the SPFL standings.
Tomorrow night will see John Hughes return to Easter Road with Ross County - and come up against Kevin Nisbet who has attracted interest from south pf the border this morning.
In Glasgow, Dundee United are visitors to Celtic ahead of the weekend’s Old Fir clash at Ibrox, and Rangers are on their travels but make the short trip west to play St Mirren in Paisley, aiming to avenge their Betfred Cup exit – but Steven Gerrard’s side face one of the country’s in-form teams at the SMISA Stadium.

Lennon tribute to ‘a giant’
Celtic manager Neil Lennon has paid tribute to former Dundee United manger Jim McLean
“I remember them beating Barcelona and I remember also being really disappointed that they lost the UEFA Cup final to Gothenburg.
“But an incredible achievement and they won the league. He was a giant, really intelligent, a great football guy.”
Celtic meet the Tangerines at Parkhead tomorrow night in the club’s first fixture since the death of their former manager and chairman on Boxing Day was announced.
According to Football Insider, George Edmundson will be available to leave Rangers in the January transfer window.
The defender, who can also play in front of the back-line as a defensive midfielder has recently returned from a seven-game suspension accrued for a breach of coronavirus protocols.
The website says Rangers will entertain offers for the 23-year-old.
On the move?
Former Rangers and Livingston goalkeeper Liam Kelly could be on the move, according to the Scottish Sun.
Now at QPR with his former Ibrox boss Mark Warburton, Kelly has been playing second fiddle to Seny Dieng and is looking increasingly likely to leave Loftus Road for the remainder of season 2020-21.

Patrick McPartlin has picked out some of the more intriguing matches from next month’s Scottish Cup second round ties. The draw was made by former Hearts, Rangers and St Mirren defender Andy Webster last night.

They have approached new minister for sport Mairi Gougeon after a conference call between the top 12 last week (Daily Record)
The Scottish Daily Mail print edition is linking Celtic target Benjamin Siegrist with clubs in Russia and Germany.
The goalkeeper will travel to Parkhead tomorrow with his team-mates for the final SPFL Premiership match of 2020, which will give his reported suitors a closer look at the Swiss stopper, but CSKA Moscow and German side Schalke are also reportedly interested according to the Mail.
