The latest happenings in Scottish football throughout Wednesday, January 6, 2021.

It’s been another busy day of transfer activity in Scottish football.
Hibs have made several moves to steady their goalkeeping issues by lining up giant Arsenal goalkeeper Matt Macey and also recalling Kevin Dabrowski from his loan spell in League One with Dumbarton.
However Jack Ross has allowed the club’s strategic partners to keep hold of goalie Paddy Martin for the remainder of the League Two campaign.
Elsewhere young French ace Thomas Robert continues to attract interest at Airdrie and Aberdeen are said to be courting a move for Gary Mackay-Steven after the winger’s departure from New York City FC.
The row over Celtic’ trip to Dubai has also not been far from the headlines today with the revelation the SFA will NOT be probing the trip.

Sunderland make Nisbet approach
The Black Cats are keen on the 12-goal Hibs striker Kevin Nisbet.
The 23-year-old has made the transition to the Premiership look seamless with his excellent performances for the Easter Road men.
Celtic face competition for defender
Celtic face stiff competition to land Ben Davies.
The Preston defender is out of contract at the end of the season and is wanted by a raft of clubs, including Bournemouth, Sheffield United and Belgian side Genk.
According to Sky Sports, Udinese are the latest side to enter the race to agree a pre-contract agreement with the player.
Barca keen on Celtic target
Barcelona are looking to sign Leicester City starlet Sidnei Tavares.
The teenage midfielder is out of contract at the end of the season and has attracted interest from Celtic.
Barcelona want to sign the Portuguese starlet on a permanent deal this month, report the Scottish Sun.
There has also been reported interest from Bayern Munich, Porto and Juventus.
Rangers tipped to beat Celtic to Doughty
Rangers have been tipped to beat Celtic to the signing of Alfie Doughty.
The Charlton Athletic winger has attracted a bid from Stoke City which could make it difficult for the Old Firm.
However, ex-Rangers star Alan Hutton reckons his firmer club would be in the driver’s seat if it came down to either club.
He told Football Insider: “Rangers look the stronger outfit, it looks as is if there’s a great chance of them winning the league and maybe has mind would have changed, so it’s obviously a decision for him.
“Both teams are interested so it really falls down to the player and where he sees himself doing better. At the moment I think Rangers are in the driver’s seat.”
GMS to Hearts?
Aberdeen are reportedly in talks with Gary Mackay-Steven over a return to Pittodire.
The winger left New York City last month.
Hearts have been mentioned as a possible destination but it is believed that the club won’t be moving for the winger.
Ian Murray on Thomas Robert interest
Airdrieonians star Thomas Robert has been linked with Celtic, Rangers, Hearts and Hibs recently.
The player spoke of his reasoning for moving to Airdrie and the desire to prove himself and earn a bigger move.
Former Hibs captain Ian Murray is in charge of Airdrie and doesn’t think a team will look to sign him just yet.
He said: “I’m pretty confident [he will stay]. There’s a lot of publicity around Thomas, he’s done really well, but he’s only played about 12 or 13 games or something like that.
Hibs near goalkeeper signing
Hibs are closing in on a deal to sign Arsenal goalkeeper Matt Macey.
Jack Ross has been in need of a new goalkeeper after Dillon Barnes’ loan deal was cut short by QPR.
Hearts get free weekend
Hearts won’t be in Scottish Cup action this weekend.
Robbie Neilson’s men were due to play the winners of Brora and Camelon but tonight’s meeting has been called off once more.
The match is scheduled to take place on Saturday now.
Hibs recall Dabrowski
Hibs have recalled Kevin Dabrowski.
The young goalkeeper has been out on loan at Dumbarton where he has impressed.
With Dillon Barnes recalled by QPR and Ofir Marciano struggling with injury, Dabrowski will provide cover and competition.
More Hibs goalkeeping movements
Hibs have also allowed Paddy Martin to stay out on loan at Stenhousemuir.
The 21-year-old has been deputising for ex-Hibee Graeme Smith at Ochilview.
