The Australia international began the season out of the team at Parkhead, but has forced his way back into Neil Lennon’s plans of late, and has featured in each of the Hoops’ last seven matches.

In the Scottish Premiership in particular, he has started his side’s two most recent outings, contributing two assists against Aberdeen and one against Motherwell.

Rogic’s newfound purple patch is a far cry from the flurry of transfer activity that took him to within a whisker of leaving Glasgow for Qatar over the summer.

And former Rangers boss McLeish believes that Lennon will be delighted that he didn’t lose the 27-year-old during the closed season.

When asked whether the Celtic manager would be pleased to have a revitalised Rogic back in his plans during an interview with Football Insider, the pundit said: “Not half, absolutely not half, because we spoke about Rogic, right at the start of the current season that he seemed to be a little bit out of things.

“I’m starting to think with Tom, because he’s got that big, lopey stride, and you’re thinking has Tom got slower, again, back to that legs thing, is he on the wain?

“And then he comes back with performances like that, the games he’s played recently and then in the semi-final – he’s always been a thorn in Aberdeen’s particular ventures over the years and again, he did the damage in the semi-final.

“He’s been a revelation since Neil brought him back into the team.”
