- Neil Lennon’s side looking for consecutive wins
59th minute
Frimpong nearly has Celtic back in it.
The right-back receives the ball in plenty of space down the right after being found by Rogic. He decides to cut inside and go for goal. His effort whistles not far beyond the far post.
54th minute
A terrific tackle from Duffy halts Karlsson as he streaks into the box running onto a pass down the right. The visitors were almost in again.
Stephen Craigan on Celtic
“Neil Lennon said before the game he expected his players to have positive body language and a spring in their step. I have to say, If I were Lennon I’d be concerned about the body language of his players."
51st minute
Elyounoussi helps on to Edouard running through on the right. The Frenchman doesn’t have any help and, after trying to square up the defender, decides instead to try and fire across goal as the ball spins harmlessly away.
47th minute
It’s a chance for Sparta already as Bain gives the ball right to Krejci. He works it to Julis who stays cool to step away from his man. His finish, on the other hand, was not “cool” as he scoops it oddly and well wide of goal.
Great/alarming stat
It’s been 30 years since Celtic last lost three games in a row at Celtic Park. They’ve lost to Rangers, Milan and now…
Chris Sutton on Celtic
“I have to say, for a must-win game, the Celtic players should be ashamed of their performance in the first half.”
Pat Bonner on Celtic
"I think there's a confidence thing with Celtic at the moment. Almost a mentality that they're hoping things are going to happen instead of making things happen."
Goal for Sparta!
The visitors go right up the other end and make it 2-0. Karlsson rips down the right and puts a cross into the centre. Brown is able to clear but only as far as Julis. The striker keeps his cool to step inside and curl it around the goalkeeper.
Celtic 0, Sparta Prague 2.
Half-time.
45th minute
Frimpong turns on the jets and sprints past his man. He gets to the byline and cuts back for Rogic. It’s just half-a-yard behind the Australian who has to dig out the finish. He can’t get enough on it to defeat the goalkeeper.
