Though it may not be your first port of call for gifts, supermarket Morrisons is kicking off a massive 50 per cent discounted sale on some of its biggest toy brands - including Lego and Playmobil.

This is everything you need to know.

What’s included in the sale?

The toy sale offers up to a 50 per cent discount on some of the biggest toy brands, from Avengers and Hot Wheels to Lego and Playmobil.

These are some of the biggest deals available in the sale:

  • Baby Chicco Pushchair, was £50 now £25
  • Hot Wheels RC Monster truck, was £50 now £25
  • Four pack Avengers figures, was £40 now £20
  • Playmobil Ambulance, was £30 now £15
  • 900 piece Lego set, was £35 now £17.50
  • Hot Wheels Stunt Garage, was £35 now £17.50

Popular items are expected to sell out quickly.

When will the sale last until?

The sale officially kicked off on Monday 12 October, and will run until 25 November, meaning you’ve got plenty of time to get a head start on your Christmas shopping.

Jamie Louram, Toy Buyer at Morrisons said, “As we draw closer to Christmas we know some customers are already preparing so we hope our Christmas toy sale event will help them find the perfect gift at a great price.”

In a statement, Morrisons said that the toy sale will be available in 400 selected stores.

Is the sale available online?

While you can buy toys on the Morrisons website, the sale is only taking place in store, meaning that you won’t be able to snap up any deals online.

To find your nearest Morrisons store, you can use the supermarket’s branch locator tool on its website.

There are some toys currently discounted on the Morrisons website, such as the Peppa Pig Family Figure Pack (was £11, now £5.50), a Play-Doh Kitchen Creations set (was £10, now £5) and a Paw Patrol vehicle set (was £15, now £7.50), however this isn’t the full selection of sale items that you would find in store.

If you do decide to pick up some of the items on offer from the website, you should be aware that you’ll need to book a delivery slot with Morrisons and the minimum order amount for a delivery is £40.

What are the current rules for shopping in Morrisons?

When the Covid-19 pandemic first began, many supermarkets implemented special shopping hours for the likes of elderly and vulnerable customers, and NHS staff.

Currently at Morrisons, from 6am to 7am, all staff with an NHS badge will be able to get into a store to stock up on products that they need.

On Sunday, the majority of stores will open at 9am for NHS workers, with regular customers allowed into the store from 9:30am to shop normally.

For any other stores that are open later than 9:30am, they will open an hour earlier for NHS staff.
