Nicola Sturgeon says Europe should ‘keep a light on’ for Scotland following end of Brexit transition
Addressing the European Union, the First Minister said Scotland will be “back soon” and urged them to “keep a light on.”

Ms Sturgeon’s remarks come after Britain’s official departure from the EU’s single market and customs union, with the Brexit transition period formally ending at 11pm on December 31.
Scotland's trading and travel relationships with EU countries will now be governed by the trade agreement announced by the UK Government on Christmas Eve.
The tweet reiterates SNP hopes for an independent Scotland to join the EU.
At 11:01pm last night, Ms Sturgeon tweeted a picture of the words ‘Europe’ and ‘Scotland’ connected by a love heart alongside the caption: “Scotland will be back soon, Europe. Keep the light on.”
The image had previously been projected on to the side of the EU Commission building in Brussels.
The Scottish Parliament refused to give legislative consent for the Prime Minister's Brexit agreement this week, however, the agreement was passed into UK law.
