Person hit by train in Edinburgh as multiple ScotRail services cancelled

A person has been hit by a train in Edinburgh this evening.

ScotRail published a Tweet just before 7:15pm which said: “Sadly, a person has been hit by a train between Haymarket and Edinburgh Gateway.

“The line is currently closed while the emergency services attend.”

A number of services into and out of Edinburgh were cancelled as a result.

A later Tweet from Scotrail, posted around 8:40pm, said the line had reopened.

British Transport Police has also been contacted for more details.
