Jet2 adds three Glasgow routes to summer 2022 plans
Jet2 is to add Rome, Krakow and Prague to its Glasgow routes to expand its previous summer 2022 plans, the airline announced today.
The airline will increase its destinations from Glasgow to 29 from the 26 it announced last week.
Jet2 has operated them from Glasgow in previous years.
There will be two flights a week on the routes between April and October next year.
Extra flights have also been added to 19 of the other routes.
However, the total number of routes being operated by Jet2 and its Jet2holidays arm from Glasgow is still four fewer than the 33 routes it planned this year and down five from the 34 last year.
The extra flights are to Tenerife, Lanzarote, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, Malaga, Alicante, Reus, Palma (Majorca), Ibiza, Menorca, Faro, Dalaman, Corfu, Crete (Heraklion), Kefalonia, Rhodes, Zante, Paphos and Malta.
The news follows the firm announcing 32 routes from Edinburgh for summer 2022.
The total was unchanged on this year’s original plans, but Girona, Pula and Venice were removed.
Instead, three Greek routes – Skiathos, Santorini and Preveza – were added.
Yesterday, Jet2 cancelled all its flights this year from February until March 25.
Jet2.com and Jet2holidays chief executive Steve Heapy said: “We know there is a lot of pent up demand, and since putting our Summer 22 programme on sale we have been very encouraged by the number of bookings coming through from customers and independent travel agents.
"Customers clearly want their all-important holidays to look forward to, so we have responded quickly by adding thousands of additional seats to a range of brilliant hotspots from Glasgow Airport.”
