Police were called to the beach at around 10.20 on Wednesday morning and officers remain at the scene to continue inquiries.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “At around 10.20 am on Wednesday, November 4 2020, police received a report that a man’s body had been found on the beach near Longniddry golf course.

"Emergency services are in attendance and inquiries are ongoing.”

A witness, who was driving past the scene earlier this morning, said that they saw police cars on the coast road in East Lothian and a group of officers on the beach.
