Scotland fan’s celebrations at Strathcarron Hospice are a social media sensation

A Strathcarron Hospice in-patient and football fanatic has become a social media hit following Scotland’s Euro 2020 play-off victory.

The Fankerton facility shared an image of a beaming Willie Thomson displaying his delight at the nation’s penalty shootout win over Serbia.

The post received more than 500 likes in less than an hour on Facebook, with social media users leaving streams of well wishes for him.

Strathcarron wrote: “During the match, he started skipping through the channels on the TV in his room and, as you can imagine, was over the moon when he stumbled across the game live on the telly!

“Understandably, tension was high and Willie found himself having to change the channel at times because it was too much to watch, stating he needed to 'calm it, Tam!'.

“Willie has been beaming from ear to ear since Scotland's win last night (he's not the only one) and thinks ‘Steve Clarke and his wonderful team have done the impossible - BRILLIANT!’.”
