Woman dies after being hit by bin lorry in Alloa

A 52-year-old woman has died after being hit by a bin lorry in Alloa, Clackmannanshire.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Alloa’s High Street just after 3pm this afternoon.

Police said the woman, who was a pedestrian, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "The road remains closed whilst officers carry out an investigation.

“Local diversions are in place and we would ask people to avoid the area."
