Queen's Garden Party: Palace announces 2021 Holyroodhouse Garden Party cancelled
Buckingham Palace has announced that garden parties normally staged at the palace and the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh have been cancelled this year.
A palace spokesman said: "The decision has been taken that garden parties will not take place in 2021."
The First Minister announced on Monday that all level four areas in Scotland, including Edinburgh, will go into full lockdown.
Everyone is to remain at home, only leaving for essential reasons including care giving, essential shopping, exercise and to meet with extended households only.
Schools are also to be closed until February, although the Ms Sturgeon has said that this will be under review, and could be extended if cases continue to rise.
Only two people from two households can meet outside, although there is no limit on the amount of times people can leave the house for exercise, unlike the March lockdown.
