Vivienne Westwood is one of the last independent global fashion companies in the world and for years now brides-to-be have visited boutiques in London, New York and Los Angeles to experience the firm’s collections.

The “carefully curated” selection of bridal looks from Vivienne Westwood will be available to view, try, and order in the capital boutique.

Rachel Scott Couture was founded in 2004 by Rachel Snedden after completing her degree in the science of textiles at Heriot-Watt University. She began with just seven dresses in a small loft space and now operates from premises on Dundas Street in the city’s New Town.

Snedden said: “Adding Vivienne Westwood Bridal is a fantastic next step for us as a brand. I’ve been a huge fan of Vivienne Westwood for longer than I care to mention.

“Her ability to root her designs in history and nostalgia, yet move forward, test boundaries, and create something ultra-modern is unparalleled.

“Through her bridal collection, she enables brides to be daring and outrageous, whilst also embracing their traditional wedding day dream. It is a such a unique and beautiful balance.”

The firm is already stocking and supplying the collection and plans to hold an official launch later in the year, post-lockdown.

The collection has been created with a reduced carbon footprint in mind. Each piece is designed, sampled and made in England using sustainable fabrics.
