BrewDog hits initial crowdfunding target
Ellon-based craft beer firm BrewDog has hit its initial crowdfunding target of £7.5 million for its Equity for Punks Tomorrow crowdfunder – and it is eyeing the £50m stretch target.
The brewer, which recently announced its carbon negative status, said more than 16,000 people have so far invested in what will be its final crowdfunding offer, helping it achieve sustainability targets.
Equity for Punks Tomorrow launched on September 10, raising £1m in less than 48 hours. Having secured more than £73m from previous crowdfunding rounds, BrewDog has now set its sights on a maximum potential raise of up to £50m before the crowdfunder closes on January 28.
Projects to be activated through further funding include solar power for its breweries in Berlin, Brisbane, Columbus and its Hop Hub in Glasgow; the installation of an eco-distillery for its spirits business at its HQ in Ellon; and building breweries in Asian markets and France.
